Committees

Seven Generations relies on the ideas, activities and energy of its various committees to help further its educational mission. Committee participation is a wonderful way to learn about the school and its core values, make a contribution, and get to know members of our community. Below is a list of all committees, including contact persons and meeting times. A full description of each committee is listed in school policy 015 in the About Us section of this website. If you are interested in participating, please contact a committee Chairperson to find out how you can get involved!  Volunteer clearances are not required to join a committee.

If you are interested in forming a new committee or heading up a new fundraising event or initiative, please contact the Board of Trustees at bot@sevengen.org to discuss possibilities.

 

 

Board Recruitment Committee

Recruits and trains new board and committee members, monitors and maintains board-wide adherence to governance best practices, maintains an officer succession plan. Consists of Board members only. Meets as necessary.

Development Committee

Reviews all development efforts for consistency with the school’s Mission and Vision, tracks all fund-raising efforts, oversees processes and procedures for grant-writing and development.

Finance Committee

Oversees budgeting process, monitors all receipts and expenditures, oversees annual audit. Meets on last Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm.

Governance and Policy Committee

Addresses issues related to overall governance of the school, reviews current policies and suggests new policies. Meets via email as required.

Grievance Committee

Reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees as related to grievance issues referred by the administration. Consists of Board/staff members only. Meets as required.

Middle School Committee

Focus is on determining the method and timing for re-launching the Middle School grades. Meets at least monthly and will form ad-hoc sub-committees as necessary.

Property Committee

Reviews property related issues as they occur, makes long-term plans for school property purchase/lease/etc. Meets at least monthly.

School Performance Committee/Strategic Planning Committee

Identifies and promotes measures and assessments that are appropriate, administers the annual survey. Meets as necessary.
