Assistant Principal

Amanda Cossman
Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education through Cedar Crest College, as well as a K-12 Special Education Certification. She is currently completing a master’s degree in educational administration through Scranton University.

Amanda began her career right here at Seven Generations! She helped the school open its doors back in 2009 and worked as the second grade inclusion teacher for six years. She then worked as the lead teacher for the K-3 gifted program at Southern Lehigh School District until she was called back to Seven Gen to work as our Assistant Principal.

When she is not at school or studying at home,  Amanda loves to be outdoors. She and her family enjoy hiking, riding road bicycles, paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming. When she’s at home she enjoys snuggling her dog Reilly and reading a good book (She love series like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, and more). She is also a devoted foodie who loves to cook fun new recipes and go to great local restaurants. She enjoys exploring the Lehigh Valley, and is always looking for great festivals and events. Contact Mrs. Cossman at amanda.cossman@sevengen.org.

What is it like to teach at Seven Generations?
Seven Gen is such a unique school where students get to discover the answers to their own questions.  Students get involved with their local community to not only see WHY they need to learn topics of study, but HOW it impacts others in their world. Learning becomes a real world experience that helps them grow into lifelong learners.

I have always been inspired by the work of the wonderful teachers at Seven Gen. I have watched these teachers assist students to find the way for their ideas and dreams to come true!  From building and donating American Kestrel Boxes to local farms, growing vegetable gardens, recreating a day in the life of a colonial pioneer, or raising and releasing fish into their local habitat, these teachers make learning not only real world, but also fun!  I am excited to work at such an innovative school.
