Maria attended college at Bucknell University where she earned a BS in Chemical Engineering. Her early career included working as an engineer and an international demand analyst at Merck & Co., Inc before leaving the corporate world to start her own personal chef company as the co-owner of Cozy Cuisines, LLC. As a personal chef, Maria taught adult cooking classes at Northampton Community College, children’s cooking classes at LCCC, as well as for private clients in their homes.
After starting a family with her husband, Joe, Maria left the personal chef business and eventually started her second company, Life From Scratch, LLC where she looks for opportunities to share her passion for wholesome, local, organic food.
Maria lives in Coopersburg, PA with her husband and their three boys – Ben, Jake, and Matt – all three of whom have attended Seven Generations Charter School since kindergarten. The whole family enjoys being active and spending time outdoors together whenever possible.
Maria believes strongly in the mission and values of SGCS and has spent many hours volunteering in the classrooms, in the school library and on field trips with Seven Gen students. She hopes that serving on the board will be another opportunity to serve this community and remain invested in its future.
