Grades Of Green Campaign

The fourth-grade students at Seven Generations Charter School are participating in the Grades of Green campaign to reduce single-use plastic in school lunches. Most single-use plastics can’t be recycled, so they’re crowding our landfills and ending up in our oceans. They never decompose; they turn into microplastics, which get ingested by ocean life. This affects all of us. Our raw data showed that our students used 498 pieces of single-use plastic in their lunches in one day. We quickly realized that we need to enact change to make a difference for our environment.

We will be taking data of single-use plastic in lunches at random points over the next few weeks. We want to see if our intervention will DECREASE  the use of single-use plastics to 295 per day! Will you help us reach our goal?

Guess what? Reusable snack bags are the answer to reducing single-use plastic in lunches and snacks! And you can get your very own reusable snack bag by clicking the link below.
