Kiera Smith

Guest Teacher

Kiera grew up in Allentown, PA, and has been passionate about education from the time she was young. As a competitive dance student, Kiera had her first education experience assistant teaching dance classes. Kiera began her career in early childhood education, working first as a classroom aide, and working all the way up to lead toddler teacher at a local childcare center. While working in this position, Kiera was obtaining her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Northampton Community College. After graduating with her Associates, Kiera transferred to Lehigh University to obtain her Bachelors degree in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology. Kiera continued to work in a variety of childcare and early childhood education settings while completing her undergraduate education. 

 

Kiera is currently a Masters student in the elementary education program at Lehigh University, and wants to teach kindergarten or first grade in the future. Kiera considers herself a lifelong learner, and it is her goal to instill this in her students. Kiera was drawn to Seven Gen because of the child-centered approach to learning and the focus on the environment and community.

 

In addition to her passion for education, Kiera has a strong passion for dance, and danced  competitively and pre-professionally from age three through college. Currently, Kiera teaches dance classes to various ages and works with the competitive dance team at Power and Grace Gymnastics and Dance in Quakertown, PA. When she is not in the classroom or the dance studio, you can find Kiera relaxing at home with her 3 cats or dreaming about her next Disney vacation.
