Makayla grew up in Easton, PA. Makayla went to The Pennsylvania State University – Berks Campus to complete her Elementary and Early Childhood Education Degree. She did her student teaching in Reading, PA in a kindergarten classroom.

The inspiration for becoming an educator started at a young age while caring for her younger brother. With a seven year age difference, she had a big role in helping and teaching him. During the summer months, she would often be responsible for him and always enjoyed helping him learn and grow. Makayla always dreamed of being able to make an impact on her students. The ability to always meet new kids and watch them grow into a better version of themselves is exciting. It is such an amazing feeling seeing how far your students have come. As someone who always loved school, she wants to pass on her enthusiasm to her students. 

Makayla enjoys traveling with her family in their camper each year. They have had many adventures on the East Coast by camping from Maine to Florida. Makayla also loves all things Disney and has visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, and Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. She also enjoys photography and spending time with her puppy in her free time.
