Fourth Grade

Robyn Perna
Robyn was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She moved around a lot as a child, but always remained in the Eastern Pennsylvania area. She has lived in Bucks, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Berks, and Lehigh Counties. In 2000, she moved to Lehigh County and currently lives in Lower Macungie Township.
After having her children, Brittany, Tyler, Kyle, and Michael, Robyn decided to return to school to pursue a career in education. She earned an Associate of Arts in Education from Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC). While attending LCCC, she volunteered for two programs working to improve academic, social, and life skills of high school and college students with special needs. She then transferred to Cedar Crest College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.
She completed her student teaching in fourth grade in the Whitehall-Coplay School District and in kindergarten in the Allentown School District. She was a substitute teacher in the Whitehall-Coplay School District for a short time before taking a position as a third grade teacher at a private school in Philadelphia.

Robyn was drawn to Seven Gen because of the hands-on, project-based approach to learning. She is committed to educating the whole child in an environment that is nurturing, active, and engaging.

Robyn loves to travel, spend quality time with her children, and attends her sons’ soccer and football games. In her spare time, she also likes to read and watch movies.

Katie Unger

Katie attended Penn State University’s Berks Campus and graduated in May 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education PK-4. In college, she toured Seven Gen and fell in love with everything about it – the philosophy, the outdoor aspect, and the teaching methods. She knew she wanted to teach at our school someday, and didn’t have to wait long. She spent a little over a year as the director of a daycare center in Whitehall when she got the call, interviewed, and accepted a position as second grade teacher.

When not at school, she loves spending time with her dog Ziggy who loves to go on hikes and visit cool outdoor places.  She also loves going to the beach and riding her horse Tex on a trail ride through the woods. Contact Katie Unger at

Jaimee Pohl

Jaimee was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA. After graduating from college, she moved to Virginia to work as a kindergarten teacher for two years before relocating back to Pennsylvania to be closer to her family. After living and teaching in Philadelphia for the past three years, Jaimee is thrilled to be back in the Lehigh Valley!

Jaimee graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in May 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood and Early Adolescent Education and a minor in Special Education. She just recently completed her Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction degree at Concordia University.
Jaimee found herself drawn to Seven Generation’s entire philosophy of education. After working in inner city Philadelphia, she loves Seven Gen’s mission to promote hands on learning in nature and making a positive impact on the local community. She strongly believes in service learning and empowering students to become active participants in their educational experiences.
In her free time, Jaimee travels with her fiancé as much as she can. She loves to explore new cities, restaurants, and festivals. She is an avid fan of all Philadelphia teams and attends at least one Penn State football game every year. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. You can almost always find her outside, whether she is kayaking, camping, skiiing or just reading a good book.

Melissa Peck-Dimotsis, Learning Support (Grade 4)

Melissa grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania with her parents and two older brothers. She married in November 2012 and now lives in Hatfield with her new husband and cat, Nadia. Living close to family and friends is worth the long ride to Seven Gen every day!

Melissa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education, from Bloomsburg University. She graduated with her Master in Special Education and Assistive Technology degree from West Chester University, in December 2013. Prior to coming to Seven Gen, she worked various long-term substitute positions for Norristown and Pottsgrove School Districts. Each of those positions was a great special education skill builder. Melissa also worked multiple summers of Extended School Year, where she worked with students with severe disabilities. She joined our staff as a Learning Support teacher in the year after opening and is now heading up a classroom of her own.

Melissa’s favorite pastime is spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also loves to bake new recipes (and oldies but goodies), read, go shopping and watch movies. If the weather is right, she loves to travel, swim and go fishing. Contact Melissa at
