Second Grade

Tatiana Galota

Tatiana Galota was born and raised in northeast New Jersey, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice. She worked for two years in the Division of Youth and Family Services in New Jersey. Shortly after getting married, Mrs. Galota and her husband ventured off to South Florida where she worked for two years at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Eventually, Mrs. Galota changed careers and began a new journey as a first-grade teacher; the following year she moved to a kindergarten classroom in a Catholic school. Then she and her family moved to Pennsylvania, where Mrs. Galota returned to school for her master’s degree and teaching certification in early childhood education.

Mrs. Galota substituted in many different districts, including at Seven Generations Charter School. It was here that Mrs. Galota realized how teaching and learning could be so hands-on and how the community and environment can make such a positive impact on teaching and learning. She joined our second-grade teaching staff in 2015.

Mrs. Galota cherishes her free time being with her husband, daughter, son, and cute kitty Lily. They enjoy going on what her children call “adventures” such as camping, going to museums, community parks, or wherever the wind takes them. She is very excited to continue her journey at Seven Gen! Contact Tatiana Galota at tatiana.galota@sevengen.org.

Ashley Petre

Ashley lives in Macungie, PA with her family. She attended Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she completed her Early Childhood Education degree. During her time there she was a member of the Kutztown track and field team where she competed in the throwing events.

Ashley has wanted to be a teacher ever since she was little. She has two younger brothers who she was always playing school with as they grew up together. Ashley has had many teachers throughout her education who have continued to inspire her to become the best educator she can be. After graduating she was a long term third grade substitute for Seven Generations. She was also a substitute for East Penn School district. Ashley is so excited to be back with Seven Generations this year as a second grade teacher.

Ashley enjoys coaching many different sports. She is currently the throws coach for Emmaus High School’s track and field team. Ashley coaches shot put, discus and javelin to the high school students. Ashley is also the head coach for the Lower Macungie Lazers summer swim team where she has been coaching since she was 16 years old. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her fiance and going on hikes with his two dogs Murray and Fynn.

Megan Roth

I live in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  I went to college at East Stroudsburg University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2015 and continued my career at Sheetz. While I was in college I worked as an Assistant Dance Instructor for a short time, volunteered as the Nursery Director at my church, and also took on the role of the Vacation Bible School Instructor.

I began substituting teaching at Seven Gen in September 2016. I was in awe that there was still a school out there that created a rich learning environment for young children and not an environment where children learn how to take a test. The philosophy of education at Seven Gen lines up exactly with my philosophy of teaching. The environment that Seven Gen creates is one that I always dreamed of having when I became a teacher. I also adore how much Seven Gen loves the environment and how they teach young children to cherish and take care of our planet. The great outdoors is very important to me and I’m excited to encourage children to feel the same!

I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, our daughter Eleanor, and our three cats. In our time together we enjoy hiking, fishing, traveling, gardening (well, trying to!) and spending time with our families. The best thing in life is enjoying the great outdoors and all the adventures it provides! Oh, and I cannot forget to mention that my lifelong dream is to one day own a beautiful horse!

Heather Woods

Heather lives in Allentown with her husband and daughter. She has a B.S. in
Elementary Education from Kutztown University and is also certified to teach
middle school and high school English/Language Arts. She obtained an M.S.W.
from Marywood College. After her work as a clinical therapist for a few years,
Heather missed the classroom setting. She was hired as a fifth grade classroom
teacher at Muhlenberg Elementary School, in Allentown School District. In her 19
years there, Heather also taught third and fourth grade. She then obtained a
position as a reading and math intervention teacher, where she worked
specifically with students needing academic assistance.

What drew Heather to Seven Generations was the school’s philosophy of
integrating the environment into their curriculum. She grew up in a rural setting
where her parents instilled a love of nature in her. Heather has treasured
memories of this time, and looks forward to sharing her love of nature with the
children at Seven Generations.

When she is not teaching, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, hiking,
and reading. She also enjoys her book club and watching movies with friends.
