Mrs. Keim lives in New Tripoli with her husband Andy and golden retriever, Cooper.
She graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and currently working on obtaining her Masters of Reading with a Reading Specialist Certification from East Stroudsburg and will be graduating in 2019!
After graduating from York College, she became a 3rd grade long term substitute. Then taught 2nd grade for three years in Maryland, where she was born and raised. She started at Seven Generations in 2016 this will be her third year teaching 3rd grade at Seven Gen!
Growing up, she had two amazing teachers that inspired her to be a teacher. They never gave up on her and truly pushed her to be the best version of herself. Ever since then, she knew she wanted to make an impact on her students, the way her teachers had made an impact on her education.
Seven Gen’s mission and environmental approach makes for a unique place to work and learn. She feels so blessed to have found Seven Gen and thrilled to have found such a welcoming school that genuinely cares about every student.
Mrs. Keim loves hiking and exploring new places with her dog and husband. She loves all activities involving water including going to the beach or lake, kayaking and crabbing. She also enjoys making craft projects and reading. She loves going to new places and hopes to travel more in the near future. Contact Blair Keim at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keith was born in Doylestown and lived in and visited many places that have influenced his love for different cultures. He lived in a few places in Pennsylvania, South Florida, central Texas, and the Big Island of Hawaii, where he graduated from high school.
He started college at Montgomery County Community College and spent quite a few years there until he figured out what he wanted to do. He started working with children at the Pottstown YMCA childcare program and fell in love with teaching. While attending Kutztown University, he worked at the Indian Valley YMCA childcare program where he continues to work during the summer. After graduating from Kutztown with a B.S. in elementary education K-6, he worked as a substitute teacher and as an elementary paraprofessional for Perkiomen Valley School District. He served as a reading and math paraprofessional for grades 1-5, an ES paraprofessional for grades 3-5, and a learning support paraprofessional for sixth grade. He also spent two years working as a personal care assistant for a student with autism and was a long-term substitute for fourth grade at Seven Generations.
Keith was drawn to education while working at the Pottstown YMCA. Intrigued by a five-year-old girl everyone else had dismissed as a “bad” kid, he was able to build a relationship with her and to gain her trust. The day he became “sold” on teaching was when she read aloud to him and persevered when she got to a difficult part. Seeing her determination, and all the good that was in this “bad” child, made him want to help bring out the best in all children. Ever since Keith read the mission of Seven Generations Charter School, he’s wanted to be a part of it. The theory of getting students outside to learn and problem solve is a large part of his vision of education, so he is very excited to be here and thankful to be part of this great school family.
Keith loves spending his free time with his wife and two beautiful children. They like to do things outside, and his son is into all kinds of sports. Keith likes to watch the Phillies and the Eagles and to attend the rare live Phillies game with his family. His other main interest is cars. He loves working on them and really enjoys driving. Sometimes, he plays Xbox with his brother who was stationed in Italy but has since moved closer. It’s a great way for them to stay connected and to do something when not together. Megan always felt drawn to education. She loved school when she was growing up and was always “playing school” as a child. Entering into teaching was not so much a choice as a calling, and she can’t imagine herself doing anything else! She graduated from Susquehanna University with a major in elementary and early childhood education and a minor in psychology. This will be her sixth year actively working in the field of education. She has held positions ranging from classroom assistant in a special education program to many long and short-term substituting assignments, and a two-year position teaching third grade at a charter school in West Philadelphia. Megan loves having the opportunity to read with, mentor and mold young minds. She’s very passionate about being her best self and helping kids do the same.
Right now, her hobbies outside of the classroom are very baby-centered, since she is due with her first child in late September 2015, but she is also a huge beach bum, likes to read and cook, has an unhealthy obsession with all card and board games, and enjoys trying out new crafts and activities from Pinterest. During the summer, she and her husband go for hikes and are looking forward to finding some great places for camping around the area. They also love attending events and festivals in the Bethlehem area, such as Chilifest and Musikfest. Contact Megan Ramirez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
